About the Response Portal
The Response Portal puts what's happening on a call in one place for members of the Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Company.
What it is
Instead of checking calls, the schedule, the truck tracker and the weather separately, the portal brings them together on one screen that works on a phone, a tablet, a laptop or the station TV.
- Live calls from our responder tooling: where, what, which units are assigned, and the call narrative.
- Who's responding from First Due, plus a printable sign-in sheet for each call.
- Unit status for our apparatus and the county's ambulances and QRVs.
- Apparatus locations on a map, from the vehicle GPS units.
- The crew schedule from PlanIt: who's on now and over the next 24 hours.
- Weather: weather alerts, current conditions, the forecast and a radar, satellite and wind map for our area.
- A wallboard for the station TV that shows calls and units at a glance.
What it isn't
The portal is a read-only view. It doesn't dispatch, page or tone anyone out, and nothing you do in it changes the systems it reads from. It refreshes every few seconds, so it can trail the radio slightly: always go by dispatch and radio traffic.
Who can use it
Members sign in with the email account the department issued them. What you see depends on your role: for example, fire and EMS members can be shown different pages and different districts. Call information is for authorized personnel only, and call pages show your name as a watermark.
